After the 8th golf day, we had raised £99,575 just short of the £1ook! The Golf day on the 18th of September raised £8,200. Our TOTAL now is £10,775
It was a slightly different golf day to previous years due to the pandemic,.It would have been extremely easy to just cancel and wait a year. We decided to go ahead and it was well worth it, the Texas scramble format was retained and proved very popular.
116 golfers played, only 8 less than 2019, sponsors continued their fantastic support of the day.
The winners at their 5th attempt were the team from DSBS - plumbers from Torquay,
led by owner Dan Baker, his team of Harry Carpanini, Scott Henry, and Duncan Grey
won with a score of 54.5
System 6 Kitchens teams 1 & 2 came in close behind with 57.3 & 57.9 respectively.
Past winners Charles Darrow was 4th and a new entry Torbay Financial services 5th.
Sophie & Krystal from Mantracom manned the 14th hole, serving refreshments, and challenging the teams with a chipping contest.
Golfers had the opportunity to win a £10,000 System6 Kitchen on the 8th hole - still no winner, over 1,000 attempts over the 8 years.
Coot Scootz offered one of their Electric Scooters for a hole in one on all the par 3's. Sherwoods were offering Titliest ProV1 balls if players could land their ball in the Sherwood Circle - a very blustery wind put paid to most attempts.
The final challenge on the golf course was the opportunity to Beat Ladies European Tour Professional Sophie Keech in a Beat the Pro competition - only 14 were successful.
After their round of golf - teams again had a go at the SNOOTING competition (Another of Martins dreamed up ideas!) a concoction of Putting & Snooker, a lot of fun.
Rory the therapy assistance dog also turned up to meet the golfers, pictured with Martin
